Hi Maria, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, you couldn't have chosen a better location if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

This is a small, characterful cottage attached to a working farm on the edge of Crummock Water. If your aim is to be in the middle of the lakes with walking/cycling on your doorstep and sheep in the drive, this couldn't get any better. If your priority is a holiday cottage with all mod cons, this is probably not for you. Space for 2 cars, washing machine and drier in the outbuildings. No hairdryers or dishwasher, and you bring your own towels. Friendly owners.
40 min walk, 5 min drive to Buttermere. You can walk round Crummock Water from the house, or access many fells including Rannerdale Knotts, Grassmore, Mellbrake, Whiteless Pike and Whiteside. There is also nearby access to Crummock Water itself: 2 walk mins down the road, for swimming (a bit slower if you are wheeling/carrying a kayak!) You can take kayaks on the lake - fees unclear at time of writing.
We would happily book again.

Hi Anna, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, it's the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while isn't it? The location couldn't be better if you enjoy getting out on the fells or on the water. If you want to take a kayak or boat out on Crummock or Buttermere you can buy a 1 day permit from the ticket machine in the National Trust car park at Buttermere, I think it's £8. I hope you can plan a return visit some time, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

Relaxing and comfortable with plenty of space for all four of us. Very well equipped with all the potential situations thought out.
