We did have a fantastic family holiday. Cottage was very cosy and very well equipped.
There is a pup in in the village, Greyhound inn- which does food. Staff is very
friendly. Two lovely towns- Keswick and Cokermouth are only short drive away.
Already planning next half term in the Lake District.

Hello Monika, Thank you for your lovely feedback. I'm thrilled you had a fantastic family holiday - that's what it's all about!! It's a gem of a cottage isn't it? You picked the perfect location for exploring the beautiful Lakes. I hope you enjoyed some lovely pub grub at the Greyhound Inn - it's always a bonus when someone else does the washing up!!! I very much look forward to welcoming you back - let the countdown commence!

Poppy cottage was a home from home. it appeared small on arrival but for 3 people and small dog it was perfect. its quite remote in location with no small shop nearby for essentials but the greyhound pub is a short walk to the end of school lane. Its only a 15 min drive to Cockermouth where there is a sainsbury.

We had so many places to visit and did most including scotland which is only 25 mins away. Mark the owner was very helpful, first when our boiler stopped and second when we lost the doorkey, but both were resolved very quickly.

we would have no reservations in going back to poppy cottage again although the stairs are quite steep as its a very old building.
