A great stay at Poppy Cottage. Great location near Ennerdale water. Walks, pubs and a shop from the door. Well kitted out though providing some kitchen basics in these cottages would be a plus. Having a fire guard and high chair would also be an easy way to improve. Good amount of space and beds were very comfortable.

Hello Matthew, You really can't beat getting away from it all, can you? I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement which I have passed on to the owner - thank you. Storage at the cottage is a little bit limited so the owners are conscious that providing too many items will make things a bit cluttered. They always apprecate feedback though and will keep a very close eye on this moving forward. I would love to welcome you back again in the future.

Lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable, kids loved bunk beds and playing in loft conversion.

We had a great time at Poppy Cottage. It was well equipped and in a very good location for exploring the Western lake District. The village of Ennerdale Bridge has 2 pubs, a church, a school and a volunteer run cafe/shop. The nearest supermarket is Cleator Moor a few miles away. Cockermouth is only 10 miles and has many interesting shops and places to eat. This area of Cumbria has stunning scenery, fantastic walks, and is less touristy than the Central Lake District.
