- We spent a week at The Parrock - with my husband, mother, springer spaniel and two young children 4 and 2 years. We had the most amazing time. The location is breathtaking with wonderful walks on the doorstep. There is a small, crystal clear little waterfall at the end of the private wood just a minute's walk from the property. The gardens are abundant with flowers. Our children spent hours exploring the gardens and woods which are quite safe and enclosed mainly. The owners made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us. They even gave our children a special certificate when they heard that the children had climbed their first mountain Catbells (which you can see from the property) which was a lovely gesture. There are so many things to do locally within a short drive or walk. We enjoyed boat trips, horse riding and Whinlatter Forest. The property itself is fully kitted out with everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay. The views from the lounge are amazing with so many different birds to be seen. Our daughters saw their first woodpecker. Our springer spaniel also had a great holiday! We can't wait to stay at The Parrock again. We miss the tranquility and peace. Best holiday we've had in years. Thank you Martin and Sue!

Hi Victoria, I absolutely loved reading your review! It sounds like you had the best family holday! It's a real home from home isn't it? And the location is stunning! Just perfect if you enjoy getting out exploring. I bet the kids loved their walk up Catbells, they'll treasure their certificates! Martin and Sue really are the perfect hosts.
I hope you can come back for some more adventures soon, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
