Lovely owner and very clean large house
Extras like board games / books were excellent
Water problems need solving as we couldn't bath or upstairs shower, and downstairs shower became a trickle on the last 2 nights

Hi John, very many thanks for your comments. I'm sorry to hear about the water situation - thank you for flagging it up. have discussed this with the owners and they've confirmed there was an unexpected issue with water pressure, however, everything has now been resolved. I'm sorry about that! I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed the rest of your break and can promise you a warm welcome whenever you return to The Lakes.

The owners of Park View Cottage are lovely and the welcome package was beyond fantastic. We've never been anywhere which has been so well equipped in the kitchen and where so many food and drink items were left to welcome us.
The cottage was spotless with a real homely feel. The garden was fine for our little Westie but not for our ESS as there is a main road at the bottom and it is not enclosed (this is mentioned in the description). Also there are chickens roaming around in the garden.
I only have two negatives about the cottage. One is the mattress - too soft (that is personal preference though) and perhaps old as you end up rolling into the middle of it, despite trying not to, so was quite uncomfortable.
The other was that the shower in the upstairs bathroom didn't work at all and the one downstairs in the shower room came out as a trickle. To get a decent amount of water coming from it you had to have is scolding hot. And at times, the water pressure dropped so low that practically nothing came out. It was a challenge getting wet.
The location is remote and there are no small shops or amenities locally (other than the pub).
We had a fantastic time and as we ate in every night, having the kitchen so well equipped was fantastic. We also used the BBQ on a couple of occasions.
All in all a lovely cottage and a great stay.
