- Cute cottage, just the 2 of us but I think we would have struggled for room if there had been more of us. The owner provides tea bags, coffee, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, etc but most appealing were the delicious home made biscotti and jam, our welcome basket included biscuits, bread, milk and treats for our dog. There’s not much around the area and we missed the walks directly from the cottage but there’s a pub across the road, food ok, and the Royal Yew 1 mile away where the food was very good, and it was nice to be a short drive from the coast. Sadly we had to leave early thanks to Boris’ announcement of lockdown but we enjoyed our stay.

Hi Deb, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, it's a lovely place to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while isn't it? The welcome pack that the owner provides is a beautiful little touch so I'm thrilled you enjoyed that. I'm really sorry if you felt there were some factors concerning the local amenities that might have detracted from your stay. Hopefully, the cosy and beautiful Padern Cottage made up for that! I'm so sorry to hear that you had to cut your holiday short, due to the lockdown that was imposed. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon!
