A warm welcome to Osprey Cottage, a cosy retreat for up to 4 people in the charming village of Portinscale.
A useful porch is the ideal place for leaving wet coats and muddy boots before continuing inside this lovely cottage. The fully fitted country-style kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need for a self catering holiday. There's an electric oven and gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and a dishwasher meaning there's no need to fight over who has to do the washing up! There's also a handy washer-dryer in here should you need to make use of that during your stay. Continue through to the living-dining room. Relax on the sofa in front of the wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings in in front of the fire. There's a TV with Freeview and DVD player for entertainment . The dining area has oak furniture and is a great spot for swapping stories on the day's events over a home cooked meal, or for spreading out maps and guidebooks whilst you plan tomorrow's activities.
Also on the ground floor is handy shower room. In here you'll find a WC, washbasin and power shower, perfect for reinvigorating tired muscles after a day on the fells.
Upstairs on the first floor are the 2 lovely bedrooms. First up is the master bedroom, which has a pine kingsize bed and handy walk-in wardrobe for storage. This bedroom has its own en-suite shower room (with WC, washbasin and shower cubicle), a real treat. The cosy second bedroom has full size bunk beds, a useful chest of drawers and has views towards Whinlatter.
Outside to the front of the cottage is a delightful patio. With a table and chairs, equally suited to that first morning coffee or an evening apperitif, it's a lovely spot for sitting out and making the most of the spring/summer sunshine. At rear of the cottage is a second sitting area and also a hose to clean muddy pets, as well as a rotary washing line.
There is also private parking for 2 cars. One in front of the shed ,where you can store bikes, and the other for a small car close to the back door.
