Great cottage for walkers which is quite remote - if you are looking for shops and coffee shops this is not the cottage for you! We loved it and only used the car twice in two weeks as so many walks staight from the door. Quiet, spotlessly clean and a bit of a tardis! Two pubs within staggering distance.

Hi Lorraine, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break. You couldn't have chosen a better location if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. It's such a bonus being able to head out walking and leave the car at home isn't it? I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

The cottage was in a perfect location for us to explore all that Eskdale had to offer.
The cleanliness of the property was excellent. Beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed in the cottage to make our stay comfortable.
When we arrived Heidi was there to greet us and give us a quick tour of the cottage to show us where everything was.
Location was good. We visited the Eskdale Mill at the top of the road. Rode the L'al Ratty from Dalegarth Station (5 minute walk) to Ravenglass. Just a short walk brings you to the Esk river where we were able to paddle when the weather was hot.
Plenty of lovely walks in the area to be had and just a short drive to Whitehaven (where we did a big food shop) and Muncaster Castle.
We even managed to climb Scafell Pike.
We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and would highly recommend this cottage for its perfect location!
