Great place for a group to stay - lots of en suite rooms, also most on ground floor or up a few steps for those with limited mobility + well equipped kitchen and dining room + v large lounge. Nice garden - with BBQ and patio area - for outdoor activities. Walks from the doorstep (e.g. up to Muncaster Fell) and next door to the interesting Muncaster Castle, also 1 mile from Ravenglass for narrow gauge railway + cafe + pub. Good meals at Pennington Hotel. 30 mins drive from Upper Eskdale and Wastdale for some serious walking. Very pleased with our stay all round. Hiccup with one of showers was dealt with promptly by the owner, all else went smoothly.

Brilliant accommodation, extremely spacious, clean. All the mod cons very up to date. Couldn't believe there weren't any fish &chip shops or a takeaway within a decent distance of property Love the school, great place for family & friends gatherings

Lovely place. Spotless and owners very helpful. Comfy sofas and beds, large wood burning stove which came in handy even in August. Plenty of wood provided too.
No criticisms at all.
