Fab cottage. Sleeps 6 in 3 double bedrooms (just). A bit tight but it is a cottage. Just one bathroom but we stayed as a couple on our own so it was perfect. Lovely little village, great for walks and the local pub is excellent.

Henfield Sussex Family
Old Post Office, Dacre (formerly 2 Rose Cottages)
First of all a beautiful location, a small hamlet of well maintained “white” cottages, with most importantly a local well kept Pub the Horse & Farrier.
Notwithstanding it was the Easter w/e Dacre is popular but not bursting at the seams such other places like Pooley Bridge, Windermere etc. Most of the cottages are let, but what locals there are friendly, as were other tenants we met. The Pub is also friendly does a good pint and food is also good too.
The cottage itself is beautifully maintained with every modcon – the owners whom we met at the end, are keen to ensure everything was at it should, and obviously take great care. They maintain it themselves and ensure that the house is clean and ready for each new arrival. They even posted books back to us which we left in error.
Excellent 5/5 – serious recommendation.

Hi Robert, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It's a real home from home isn't it? And the location is idyllic, much quieter than other parts of the Lakes. The fabulous weather was the icing on the cake. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
