The Old Joiner's Shop is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Storm Dennis curtailed our ability to explore the area but didn't stop us from having a cosy, comfortable weekend. Would love to visit again when we can properly explore the area.

Hello Laura, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It's a gem of a cottage, isn't it? The location is hard to beat! Storm Dennis certainly made his presence felt, however, I'm thrilled the cottage more than made up for it. Here's to the next Lakes adventure - hope to see you again very soon!

The Old Joiner's Shop was an absolute pleasure to stay at. 5 of us stayed for a week. We had planned lots of activities, hiking and exploring the local area and mountains. The location was perfectly situated within short driving distance of everywhere we wanted to visit. The house comfortably fit 5 of us and we spent almost all of our down-time enjoying the lovely conservatory and decking area outside. Everything made us feel very much at home and Diana (the owner) was very accommodating and helpful in all of my correspondence to her.

The only slight negative I would have to give is that the local village shop isn't quite sufficient for everything we needed so we had to drive a small way for certain things we needed and to do our main food shop for the week, but it was perfectly adequate for top up items such as bread, milk and local foods. The local pubs are also excellent (namely Brook House Inn).

We had a wonderful week though and we highly recommend the Old Joiner's Shop to anyone who wished to spend a week walking and exploring the mountainous side of the Lake District.

Sounds like you all had a great week hiking and exploring - you couldn't have picked a better location! The owner is lovely and really does go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable holiday. I hope you will all return to the Lakes very soon for your next adventure.
