(THESE DISCOUNTS ARE ALREADY APPLIED IN THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR). Please note, when booking for a group of 6 or less then the bedrooms available are Bedroom 2 - Family Room, Bedroom 7 - Old Stable and Bedroom 9 - Stable 2.General Description
You enter The Old Homestead into a foyer where you will find an original bread oven in the corner to your left. The door directly in front of you takes you into the stairwell, beyond which you will find the first of three double bedrooms. The Old Stable, Stable 1 and Stable 2 are all spacious double rooms with en suites, two of which have a walk in shower, WC and wash basin. The Old Stable has a bath with fixed shower head above it, WC and wash basin.
Return through the foyer and turn right to arrive in the large lounge with comfortable seating, TV, DVD player and a large wood burning stove set in one of the largest working fire places/chimneys in the Lake District. This then opens out into the spacious dining room with more than enough seating for 13. There is also a wonderful original boiling pot as you enter the dining room. To your right is the door leading to the spacious garden.
The lawned garden is extremely large and has a patio with outdoor furniture as well as the lawned area with beautiful views towards the Buttermere Valley and across to Skiddaw, Grasmoor and Red Pike.
Back into the dining room and down the corridor and you will enter the kitchen with its electric range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, large freestanding fridge and freestanding freezer. There is also plenty of storage space in the kitchen.
Out of the kitchen, turn right and through into another corridor: the first door is the utility room, which has a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a WC. The next room along is the bedroom called, Byre 1, which has three single beds and an en suite with walk-in shower, WC, basin and handrails, making this room wheelchair friendly. Next to this bedroom is Byre 2, a family room with a double bed and two single beds. The en suite is again wheelchair friendly with walk-in shower, WC, basin and handrails.
