DUE TO THE LATEST COVID-19 REGULATIONS WE ARE OFFERING OLD HOMESTEAD (LORTON) FOR GROUPS OF UP TO 6 OR A FAMILY BUBBLE AT A DISCOUNTED RATE FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2020. (THESE DISCOUNTS ARE ALREADY APPLIED IN THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR).

The Old Homestead (Lorton) offers characterful self-catering accommodation for up to 13 people, surrounded by the fantastic mountains of the Lake District's Lorton Valley.

A renovated Cumbrian longhouse, the property features award-winning architectural design alongside gorgeous original features and modern comforts including underfloor heating and spacious rooms.

All of the generously sized bedrooms feature their own en suites, TVs, relaxed seating and personal thermostat for controlling the underfloor heating. They're the ideal place to escape to for some quiet contemplation or a relaxing night's sleep. Both the dining room and lounge can easily seat your whole party with wood burners and incredible views to impress everyone!

The spectacular views become even more prominent when you step into the large garden: you can sit on one of the thoughtfully places benches and enjoy the outlook towards Buttermere, Skiddaw, Grasmoor and Red Pike. There are hundreds of walks straight from your front door and Hundith Hill Hotel, a pleasant f-minute walk away, has a bar and restaurant open to non-residents.

Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, is a short 10-minute drive from Old Homestead (Lorton) and has a wide variety of bars, cafes and restaurants. There are also numerous independent shops, boutiques and antique shops to explore. The Jennings Brewery in Cockermouth is well worth a visit with its tours, tastings and gift shop.

There's truly something for the whole party at Old Homestead (Lorton)!
