Good accommodation with comfortable beds and furniture.
The location was really good with the height of the cottage giving lovely views of the surrounding area.
The one big criticism would be the hot water supply, particularly in the kitchen area. I was required to contact Sally's Cottages more than once in order to report that the water was merely trickling from the tap. I was advised to undertake remedial action to establish a barely acceptable flow of water, which I had to do on more than one occasion. Not the sort of thing you'd wish to do whilst on holiday!
Overall myself and my family enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.

Nice place, would certainly stay again. Some issues, but on balance very good.

Glad I read others reviews before I went about needing to take bin bags etc. My advice would be to take fly spray in the summer as the flies are constant and there are loads.

Clean, well laid out and roomy.

Well equipped kitchen with good size fridge and microwave, cooker, toaster, dishwasher.

Very good wifi and large TV.

Nice views and lots of wildlife, lots of rabbits and butterflies around.

Parking for up to 3 cars

Good directions to the site from website (much better than google maps). Better directions would be useful to find the specific lodge on the site though.

Key safe is a good idea and works well.

Good location, 5min drive from penrith where there are lots of supermarkets. Close to Pooley Bridge.

Lots of pubs near, The Beehive pub down the road and The Sun inn in Pooley Bridge were both very nice with good children's play areas.

Things to be aware of:

Pictures are quite deceptive about how high up the cottage really is and the stair count does not include the wooden stairs in the photo. It is very high up and a struggle for less able people or those with small children.

The lawned area out the back is actually very steep, suprising compared to pictures. Children would not be safe alone.

The cottage has some damage which makes you worry for your security deposit. There is damage on the patio door frames, ceiling, in the fridge, on some crockery and the sofas are stained in places. Not a big issue, but I took photos when I arrived in case I was billed for it (I wasn't).

The main bathroom has a padded toilet seat which I think is very unhygienic (it is split), others in my party did love it though.

Make sure you use the boost on the water and plan your showers well. One short shower took all the water and left the other 5 people staying with ice cold showers one morning. Also as in previous reviews the hot tap in the kitchen doesn't really work.

If you request the cot please bear in mind it is much larger than any other travel cot I have seen and there really is nowhere to put it.

Don't expect too much wardrobe room as the wardrobes are filled with a variety of things like bedding, boxes, a Hoover, an airer and a step ladder! Also the hangers provided are nearly all children's.

There is little suitable kitchenware for children provided, so take your own plastic cups and plates. The games are a nice idea but none are complete and they can't be played, this is a shame for small children who get them out daily and don't really understand.

Overall when you know what to expect it is fantastic as you could take more things for children to do.

A very enjoyable stay in the nuttery. Great location and interior is done to a high standard. It was left clean and tidy for our arrival.

There was no hot water in the kitchen sink however, and a lack of equipment such as bin bags and dishwasher tablets which we had to buy ourselves. There were no fans in the property and we were there during a heatwave, and the pillows were very hard and uncomfortable.

Having said this we would definitely stay again but would probably bring more of our own items from home to make the stay a little more comfortable.

Hi Christina, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it?
I'm sorry you had an issue with the water, I'll look into that. I really appreciate your other feedback and suggestions for improvement too. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
