Hi Lauren, I'm so pleased you enjoyed your third time at The Granary. It must feel like coming home. Until next time!

The Granary is lovely, with a great deal of care being taken by the owners in the design, furnishing and equipping. It's in the top two or three of all the holiday cottages we've stayed in during the past thirty years or so. Deanscales doesn't really have anything in the way of facilities, except for a pub (that doesn't open until 6:00pm) but Cockermouth is close by with everything you need and nice places to eat or buy local fresh produce to cook back at The Granary. Loweswater is very close also (with fabulous woodland walks), as is Crummock Water, Buttermere and Whinlatter Forest (all within 20 minutes drive). The coast is also within about 20 minutes drive west and well worth an explore. All in all an excellent holiday property.

Hi David, thank you for your review. I'm so glad you had such a great time at The Granary. It really is a lovely place to stay isn't it? Like you say the owners have really put in a lot of effort.
It sounds like you did a lot of exploring, fantastic! There's so many beautiful places to visit nearby. Here's to the next Lakes adventure.

A very nice place to stay for some peace and quiet, but near Cockermouth, and other towns. Recommended, but parking space a tad tight.

Hi John, the Granary is the perfect place to escape from it all isn't it? Cockermouth is a lovely little town with some great places to eat and drink and lots of independent shops. I hope you enjoyed exploring the local area. Until next time!
