We have stayed at this cottage before (three years ago). This is the reason we booke it again. Two pubs close by, the village shop which although a little expensive compared to supermarkets is very good.

Would not hesitate to book the cottage again. Only issue is the parking. Bit of a worry when it rains but there's plenty of parking up by the church. Maybe a trolly could be provided for bringing luggage to the cottage from the parking for older users.

The fact that two dogs were permitted makes a difference as well. Though there isn't a garden available if the weather is good there is an outdoor area.

I'm glad to hear you'd enjoyed your second stay here, Kim! It's in a lovely location, isn't it! And with all the fantastic scenery around you can enjoy any number of walks with the dogs. You're always welcome, so hope to see you again before too long!

We had a fabulous stay at High Bridge. The cottage is very comfortable and spacious, even with 6 people staying. It is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts with some lovely walks from the doorstep. The kitchen enables cooking for 6 with ease and there is plenty of storage space for rucksacks, boots and wet jackets!
The local pub is excellent, welcoming with delicious food - though I recommend booking as it can get very busy. The village shop stocks all the basics plus some treats to help you get through the day. Keswick is only 5 minutes away if more variety of food and shopping is needed.
The driveway and parking is awkward, but there is an alternative space to park 100m from the house, so this should not put you off.
We highly recommend this cottage and will be asking if there is availability next year.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm so pleased you had such a great time at High Bridge. It sounds like it suited your party perfectly. Braithwaite is a lovely little village isn't it? It's such a bonus being able to go walking from the doorstep and leave the car at home. I hope you enjoyed exploring. Come back soon, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

Parking is tricky. Frying pans are knackered. Lovely views and a cosy place in a storm. Quiet and comfy. Perfect location for walking and cycling and welcoming pubs for the evening.

Hi, High Bridge is the perfect place for a relaxing break isn't it? Braithwaite is such a lovely village and there are some great walks on the doorstep. It's always a bonus having some great pubs within walking distance too!
I appreciate your feedback about the frying pans and will pass it on to the owners, thank you. Here's to the next Lakes adventure!
