This house as a holiday home needs to be upgraded. The following need to be addressed
1. No toilet paper supplied
2. No hand soap
3. No towels
4. There’s only 1 properly working shower for a house that sleeps 13, not surprised the owners have had to replace it
5. Oven broken and dangerous
6. Mattresses on all beds need to be replaced
7. Pantry unclean on arrival
8. “Maids/smallest bedroom” not a real bedroom and incredibly damp and smelly

Many thanks for your helpful feedback, Rhodri. I'm sorry you found the house not to your requirements and I'd be very pleased to help you in the future to find a more suitable cottage for your break. However, I've passed your comments and suggestions on to the owners for their consideration and action. It's fairly normal for many Lake District holiday cottages not to supply towels and this is contained in the information before you arrive. Loweswater itself is a lovely quiet area and I hope you were able to get out and about while you were there to enjoy the scenery and surroundings. Hope to see you in the Lake District again before too long!

Great house for a large party. Kitchen is great. Needs a little updating but that didn’t bother us.

Ideal for Family reunions/events etc, location just perfect for walking with moderate to difficult available. House whilst clean and tidy and presentable could do with wardrobes in bedrooms where applicable. Nearby Kirkstile Inn perfect for food and atmosphere.
Would suggest that owner Julia rather than charge £200 damage fee, would be better Catagorising, eg broken dishes plates glasses = £50, stained carpets through spillage and neglect £50, can understand her frustration at finding damage after people have left but I did baulk at the £200.
Did speak to Julia as we were leaving and found her very accommodating and open to suggestions as to what she needed to do re the £200, hope she found this of help.

Hi Keith, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Rosewell House. It's the perfect place for a get together with family or friends isn't it? And the views are incredible! I love the Kirkstile Inn, it's a family favourite!
I know Julia would appreciate your feedback about the damage deposit. I've passed your comments on to her, thank you. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
