We absolutely loved staying at Swinsty and it delivered everything we hoped it would. We were able to use it as a base for some great walks in the fells and as a great place to return to and socialise as a group. Would highly recommend and would happily return!

One of the great holidays! Swinsty and the Lakes were exactly as we hoped it would be. Remote, gorgeous, tranquil, relaxing, healthy and fun.
The cottage is idyllic - all 8 of us who stayed loved the place, its location and the environment. Rooms were perfect, kitchen superb, garden perfect for cricket and even the table tennis and pool skills got a dust off.
Can't recommend this place more highly for getting away from it all and, more importantly, realising what really matters in life. Family, friends, a good home-cooked meal and fresh air.

Hi Reghu, thank you so much for your review. I just love getting feedback like this! It sounds like you had the perfect holiday at Swinsty, just as a holiday should be. I love the sound of all your sporting acativities and games, brilliant! I hope you can come back for some more adventures in the Lakes very soon.

It looks like a simple local stone house from the photos. In fact the interior has been refurbished to the highest standards. The latest floor to ceiling radiators and a first class central heating installation to overcome the snows and winds of the winter. The modern and fantastically kitted out kitchen has more plates, pans etc than many restaurants. The setting is simply breathtaking and the whole scene at Swinsty is so different than many other tourist infected areas of the Lakes. It is quiet and peaceful. Many local walks and peaks to conquer. The "Cafe" on the footpath from Sandwick to Glenridding is one of a kind and only caters to those that walk along the footpath. It is about 15 minutes from the Lane next to the house and has the best sausage rolls in my experience. Magical!
