This cottage was a real 'get away from it all' experience. The cottage was lovely and homely and in a lovely location in Boot. A fab week away! We hope to return.

Hi Sarah, I'm so pleased you had such a great time at Lane End. It's so good to get away from it all every now and again isn't it? Until next time!

We absolutely loved our stay in this cottage. The owners had done their best to anticipate our every need. Sharp knives, teacloths, kitchen and toilet rolls and matches were all provided. There was also plenty of entertainment such as board games and books as well as WiFi access and Sky TV.

The only minor point is that we found the mattress in the main bedroom uncomfortable as it's very soft and in our view needed replacing; we ended up decamping to the spare bedroom.

While there is no local shop to buy fresh milk from, this inconvenience was more than made up for by the Brook Inn opposite being willing to serve drinks and allow us to take them home!

Hi Jacqui, thank you for your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Lane End. I hope you managed to take advantage of the great walking in this area. I love the idea of getting a takeaway from the pub, fantastic! I'm sorry to hear you found the mattress to be uncomfortable, I've passed this on to the owner. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We had a fantastic holiday in Lane End. It is such a cosy and comfortable cottage and in an unbeatable location. We enjoyed many riverside, woodland and fell walks straight from the door without having to drive somewhere first. It is very handy for Dalegarth Station - Peter Rabbit even made an appearance on the Thursday at a National Trust event there! The Brooke House Inn has great local ales and superb food which they were happy to deliver to the cottage with a smile. We had our best holiday yet in the Lake District and we hope to return to Lane End again next year.

Hi Anna, it sounds like you had a fantastic time at Lane End. Just as a holiday should be! It's such a bonus being able to go out walking and leave the car behind isn't it? Lucky you meeting Peter Rabbit himself! The Brook House Inn is fab, I don't think you could get a better local. Come back soon, we'd love to have you!
