The cottage is in a fabulous location with amazing views and many walks from the house. It was warm cosy and clean. It had all the amenities such as washing machine and tumble drier and a lovely wood burning stove. Would recommend.

Hi, I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Crag Lea. The location is stunning isn't it? I hope you enjoyed exploring the beautiful Borrowdale Valley. Crag Lea is the perfect place to return to after a day out on the fells. Until next time.

Lovely cosy cottage in beautiful peaceful location. Cottage had everything we needed and there were so many walking options without having to get in the car. Enclosed garden was great for our dog.

Hi Melanie, I'm so pleased you had such a great time at Crag Lea. It's a real home from home isn't it? And the views are stunning! It's such a bonus being able to go out walking and leave the car behind isn't it? I bet your dog loved it! Until next time.

Grange is lovely, as is the borrowdale valley. Proximity to keswick is helpful and anyone who knows the area will be aware of the excellent walking, lovely tearooms (including in grange itself).

Pros of the house: Fantastic views throughout, lovely setting, self contained, nice garden with lovely views, reasonably well equipped, responsive central heating, log burner works well, comfy bedrooms and living room, good tv, dvd and internet. Although the bedroom sizes are modest (typical for this type of property) it is helpful to have 3 double bedrooms (one set up as a twin room). Off road parking for two cars is helpful and quite rare for this type of property.

Cons: The cottage wasn't as clean as we've come to expect from other cottages by Sallys Cottages. We don't mind the fact that it's a dog friendly cottage (dogs are allowed downstairs) but the living room carpet needed a vacuum on arrival to remove dog hair. The cottage suffers a bit from damp and there appears to be a leak in the bathroom causing water to drip through ceiling to rear lobby (slow drip produces very small puddle each day). This didn't impede our enjoyment of the property but needs to be addressed for the long term good of the cottage. No wash hand basin to downstairs WC is a shame but the WC and adjacent utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer are convenient features. The upstairs bathroom is a good size but is a bit dated - the bath appears to need resealing - possible cause of previously mentioned ceiling leak.

The above cons didn't stop us enjoying the cottage - we had a great week and would return. If these items were resolved we would rate it 9 out of 10.

Hi Daniel, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Crag Lea. Grange is a lovely little village isn't it? Such a beautiful part of the Lakes with some fabulous walks on the doorstep.
I'm sorry to hear that some of the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch when you arrived. It you had let me know at the time I would have arranged for someone to come out and take care of it for you. I'll pass this on to the owners along with your other feedback, thank you.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
