Arbroath Couple with 2 dogs
- The cottage is a good size and facilities within are good.
The single beds upstairs are hard and uncomfortable.
There is no noise insulation at all between the floors, so when in bed downstairs you can hear everything that is going on above - the sounds are not even muffled. This may not affect some people but we have 2 big dogs, who slept on the kitchen floor above us, and everytime they moved, we heard them.
There were a lot of cobwebs and the bathroom downstairs could have done with some TLC.
The location was perfect for us with dog walks from the door and dog friendly pubs with great food just a 10 min walk away.
The reason for not staying again is because of our dogs. The point of getting a cottage with them is to relax and enjoy the quiet, not to be woken up in the night by them moving about upstairs. If we didn't have the dogs it would be fine. Also, there are a few other cottages around that would suit us (sleep 4, dog-friendly) and we like to go to different locations, rather than the same place over and over. We've been taking our holidays around the UK in dog-friendly places for the last few years and have only found one place we would go back to (in Norfolk).
