Directions

From the North M6

  • Exit the M6 at Junction 40 (Penrith) and take the A66 East signposted Scotch Corner
  • Continue on the A66 from the Penrith junction for approximately 14 miles
  • Take the B6542 signposted Appleby
  • Turn left at the T-junction signposted Appleby / Orton
  • Follow the road under two bridges and through Appleby, passing the Co-Op on your right-hand-side
  • The road starts to climb out of Appleby and you'll pass a left-turn signposted to Hilton /Murton - don't take this turning, but continue on straight
  • You will soon see a brown sign for Beechcroft Nurseries (120 yards) on your left
  • Near to the top of the hill on your left-hand-side is Beechcroft, which is identified as Beechcroft Nurseries by a large brown sign
  • Pull into the driveway (the second gravel drive, not the first brick drive) to park
From the South M6
  • Exit the M6 at Junction 38 (Kendal and Brough)
  • Turn left at roundabout to Orton, Appleby B6260
  • Follow the B6260 all the way to Appleby, about 11 miles
  • You will pass Appleby Castle on your right, head down Boroughgate, turn right at St Lawrence Church, across the bridge over the River Eden and turn right
  • You will pass the Co-Op on your right-hand-side
  • The road starts to climb out of Appleby and you'll pass a left-turn signposted to Hilton /Murton - don't take this turning, but continue on straight
  • You will soon see a brown sign for Beechcroft Nurseries (120 yards) on your left
  • Near to the top of the hill on your left-hand-side is Beechcroft, which is identified as Beechcroft Nurseries by a large brown sign
  • Pull into the driveway (the second gravel drive, not the first brick drive) to park
From the North and South A1/Scotch Corner
  • At the Scotch Corner roundabout, take the exit west for the A66
  • Follow the A66 for about 35 miles
  • Exit on to the B6542 towards Appleby
  • Follow this road for just over a mile and you will come to the Royal Oak Inn on your right.
  • The road starts to rise and as it does start to slow down and indicate right.
  • The entrance to Beechcroft is hidden on your right handside directly opposite a double green gate.
  • Pull into the driveway (through the sandstone pillars) and there is ample parking.
