General description
This stunning new but traditional-style cottage is nestled in the heart of Lowick surrounded by rolling hills, sitting on the edge of Otley Beck which trickles past adding to the calming environment.

There is a gravel driveway with parking right outside the cottage. A cast iron gate encloses a private garden area, with a slate table and iron chairs and benches, positioned to catch the sun at any time of day as you enjoy a glass of wine watching kingfishers, herons and dippers in the water alongside.

Beautiful crafted oak beams and traditionally rendered sculptured walls greet you as you step in through the craftsmanship of the stable door entrance into a vestibule area. There are two steps into the property. As you take off your muddy boots on the oak bench and store them on the boot rack, the Aga in the kitchen warms up the cottage and is always ready at perfect cooking temperature. The Belfast sink and slate floor keeps to the farmhouse style perfectly. It is well equipped with a fridge, counter top freezer, washing machine, electric kettle and a toaster. Cutlery, crockery and glasswear are aplenty and there is a hotplate available for frying. You will also find the critical supplies of tea and coffee.

An oak dining table sits in the corner looking out of the window to the gorgeous scenery surrounding the cottage, a perfect place to enjoy a romantic meal after a day out and about. The area is kept light by Velux windows which have remote controlled blinds.

Continuing in the open plan arrangement, the lounge area is nestled under the beautiful oak stairway to the mezzanine bedroom. A cosy two seat settee opposite a well stocked woodburner provides a perfect place to wind down in the evening whilst watching the freesat television. There is a DVD player and a selection of DVDs, books or maps to enjoy during your stay at Otley Beck Cottage. WiFi is also available.

An oak door leads to a Victorian style bathroom with a drench shower, traditional chain flush toilet and large washbasin. Luxurious Egyptian cotton towels are provided.

On the mezzanine, a king sized bed faces an oak framed window with views over to the farm in the distance and the surrounding hills. Egyptian cotton bed linen and duck feather duvet and pillows make for a very comfortable sleep, leaving you refreshed for exploring the South Lakes the next day. A radio alarm clock is provided so you don't miss the photographic opportunity of an early morning sunrise.

If stairs are an issue, the owners will be able to make alternative arrangements within the cottage to make a bedroom accessible on the ground floor. Please note however, there are two steps into the cottage.

Walking out into the gated garden, a secluded area hosts a wrought iron bench which sits at the back of the cottage, capturing the afternoon sun whilst the trickle of the beck runs alongside.

At the front of the cottage, a slate table and wrought iron chairs allow a differing but still private view of the surroundings. Bike storage is available in the owner's garage onsite.

There is parking to the front of the cottage for one car.
