We enjoyed our stay, a microwave would have been useful, the lounge was difficult to warm up as the log burner was very smokey so we felt it was better not to light it again after the first evening, Overall the cottage was good, very clean and in an excellent location.

Hi Myra, thank you for your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break at The Cottage. The location is stunning isn't it?
Log burners do take a bit of getting used to. I hope you managed to keep warm without it, it was particularly cold while you were here.
I'll pass your suggestion for a microwave on to the owners for consideration, thank you. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Absolutely idyllic and peaceful location. 3 days cut off from the rush of daily life with a great walk up burnbank fell and Blake fell directly from the cottage.

Kirkstile inn for dinner - would definitely recommend booking.

Small gripes - the tin opener didn’t work... slight dust on one of the bedroom lamps and mould that probably needs dealing with sooner rather than later.

Would definitely return! Sally’s as always with a winner!

Hi Laura, thank you for your review. It sounds like you had a wonderful relaxing break at The Cottage. It's the perfect place to get away from it all for a few days isn't it? The location is stunning and so peaceful. I'm glad you enjoyed some great walks, it's a real bonus being able to leave the car at home isn't it?
I really appreciate your feedback about the tin opener and the mould, I'll pass this on to the owners along with your other comments, thank you.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

The cottage was nice and comfortable, and cosy for a family of four and a dog. The area was beautiful we found lots of lovely walks and visited nice towns. Everywhere was very dog friendly. The local pub the kirkstile served excellent food and the staff were very welcoming. We will definitely come back to Jenkins cottage again.

Hi Melanie, it sounds like you had a lovely break. This part of the Lakes is stunning isn't it? And like you say incredibly dog friendly. The Kirkstile is one of my favourite places to go for a meal. Hopefully you can come back again in the warmer months, a drink in their beer garden on a warm sunny day is not to be missed! Until next time.
