The owners of this cottage will be providing a Christmas tree and decorations for the festive season. They are more than happy gor you to bring more if you wish to.
Low Swinside has been beautifully modernised with the inclusion of a fabulous garden room and a stunning sauna room yet retaining original features such as the inglenook fireplace with bread oven, riven slate flagged floors, mullioned windows and original oak beams.
The main living area is an "L" shaped room incorporating a large seating area with feature brick fireplace topped by an oak mantle which houses a multi fuel stove. This opens out into the garden room which houses the dining area, with double height glass ceilings and glazed doors and full height windows this takes full advantage of the spectacular views across the garden, valley fields and to Low Fell beyond. The room has got a 40inch TV with DVD player and freesat.
Leading from this area is the kitchen which has butterfly blue granite work surfaces and is open to a breakfast dining area. The kitchen is very well equipped for self catering with a 5 ring gas hob, two electric ovens, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and tall larger fridge. There is also a large utility room housing a tall freezer, washing machine and tumble drier. There is plent of space to dry out soggy clothes or store muddy boots here too.
From the living area a staircase rises to a minstrel gallery landing leading to the four-poster ensuite bedroom.
A door from the main living room takes you through to the second sitting room which is smaller but also has a fantastic view and is great for either having a relaxing read or for the children to play in. Off the second sitting room is an entrance porch which has plenty of hanging space for coats as well as a downstairs WC.
Moving through from the second sitting room you come to the older part of the farmhouse. This area has riven-slate flagged floors fitted in the 17th century. There is a small room with a computer console which leads to the pool room with an inglenook style stone fireplace exposed beams, ceiling hooks and a stone mullioned window with window seat.
Off the pool room is the downstairs twin bedroom also with riven-slate flagged floor.
Above this part of the house is two double bedrooms, one of which feature wonderful original exposed oak beams, a single bedroom and a bathroom with a large bath.
The pool room has a connecting corridor through to the recently renovated barn. This features a sauna room downstairs with shower and then upstairs a triple bedroom (with one single bed and a zip&link bed, which is either a super king or twin beds). From the triple bedroom you access a bunk bedroom with adult sized bunks and from here you access a shower room.
The very private gardens and grounds feature a large lawn with island areas and to the rear a parking area and a small orchard.
