Formerly the village pub, Sun Inn Cottages have been renovated to form two homely self catering cottages. No 2 sleeps four people in two bedrooms, a double and a twin.
Torpenhow is a small hamlet in the north of the Lake District, enjoying spectacular sunsets and views to the Solway Coast. The mighty Skiddaw range is close at hand, and even closer are the less frequented grassy plains of the hills known as Back o’Skiddaw. The quiet gentle lanes of North Cumbria are ideally suited to family cycling.
A mile down the road is the welcoming pub the Greyhound at Bothel. There is also a lovely coffee shop on the Bothel to Bassenthwaite road.
Torpenhow is well located to enjoy the Solway Coast, the Roman heritage of North Cumbria and the Borders, and also the best of the North Western Lake District including Keswick, Buttermere and Ennerdale. The border city of Carlisle is a 30 minute drive away. There is the imposing castle to look round, great pedestrianised shopping areas and some excellent places to eat.
