Sally's Cottages wins Gold at National Awards Ceremony

Cumbrian holiday cottage letting agency, Sally’s Cottages, has won gold in the Best UK Holiday Cottage Booking Company category in the British Travel Awards 2019.

The announcement was made on 27 November at a glamorous Gala Awards ceremony, held in London and attended by nearly a thousand travel industry people.

It’s the second time in a row that we’ve received gold and really goes to show the amazing work done by everyone at Sally’s Cottages to make sure visitors have the best experience while visiting the region. I’d like to say a massive thank you, too, to everyone who took the time to vote for us.”

The company was set up by Sally in 2003 with just one holiday cottage sub-let from a neighbour. Today it is the largest independent self-catering cottage company in Cumbria with around 500 holiday cottages and providing work for hundreds of local people. “Local businesses in Cumbria show time and time again that the county is a big player on the national stage,” continues Sally, “and we’re so happy to be a small part of that.”

Sally’s Cottages has more to celebrate this week, with Cumbria’s U15 Cricket Team, who the company sponsors, winning Young Team of the Year at the Active Cumbria Sports Awards.
