We're doing cute and cosy today with our newest cottage! Please welcome The Old Stable in Ayside!
Bursting with charm and character, this converted stables is a wonderfully welcoming home-from-home: the perfect pet-free place for up to two people to really get away from it all and truly relax.
The dining kitchen is quirky and charming: with its Rayburn oven you get the real feeling of a traditional farmhouse kitchen. After cooking up a hearty meal, retire to the lovely living room. I can just imagine sinking into the armchair by the electric fire with a cup of tea and a good book.
Doors from the living room lead into a bonus sun room and then out onto the patio area, perfect for that 6 o'clock G&T!
Head up the stairs from the living room and you'll find a quirky mezzanine. This landing area doubles as another delightful reading spot or just take a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Back down the stairs now to the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is a great size and has two single beds - ideal for those who prefer the duvet to themselves! - and the shower room is decorated with fabulous vintage-style postcards. I bet you still won't have chosen your favourite by the end of the week!
Located in the quiet hamlet of Ayside, The Old Stables is a lovely rural retreat. The cottage is next to a farm (which is also where the owners live) so you're not completely isolated and there are lovely countryside strolls along quiet lanes nearby. You've also got Cartmel, Grange-over-Sands and Windermere all within easy driving distance for days out if you fancy a change of pace and are in between books!
