We're doing cute and cosy today with our newest cottage! Please welcome The Old Stable in Ayside!

After cooking up a hearty meal, retire to the lovely living room. I can just imagine sinking into the armchair by the electric fire with a cup of tea and a good book.

The bedroom is a great size and has two single beds - ideal for those who prefer the duvet to themselves! - and the shower room is decorated with fabulous vintage-style postcards. The cottage is next to a farm (which is also where the owners live) so you're not completely isolated and there are lovely countryside strolls along quiet lanes nearby. You've also got Cartmel, Grange-over-Sands and Windermere all within easy driving distance for days out if you fancy a change of pace and are in between books!
