The kitchen was well equipped with wonderfully sharp knives!! The heating worked well and the little fire in the sitting room did make it very cosy, however the house is not big enough for 11 people which it perports to sleep, 11 people in the dining room or sitting room would be most uncomfortable. The furniture in the sitting room was broken and old - Covid is no excuse for this. In view of this we felt we paid more than the house was worth.

Hi Marion, very many thanks for your comments. I've passed these on to the owners and they too are grateful for your honest feedback. They have never been made aware of any broken furniture and do offer their apologies if this caused any inconvenience. They will be looking into this as a metter of urgency and have already made plans to replace some of the older furniture, such as the sofa, in January. I'm pleased to hear that you made the most of the cosy lounge and kitchen but I'm sorry if you found these to be too small. I'll keep an eye on this but because the house comfortably sleeps 11 people, it's important to the owners that they provide seating for everybody. I hope we can welcome you back to The Lakes in future!

Keswick is a happy town: the residents are happy with their lot and the visitors happy to have a chance to experience briefly the picturesque location, the many local walks, the romanticized fells, and the archetypal lake. With a character all its own, there can be few small towns that offer more pubs, cafes and restaurants and have a cinema and theatre.

Hi Michael, Keswick is fabulous, isn't it? And so much to see and do too! I'm delighted to hear you had such a happy stay and look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Great house for a large family group. Bedrooms were lovely and the kitchen was well equipped. We loved the big dining room. The weather was mostly awful but the house was really warm and cosy.
The house was close to Keswick and to walks.
We had trouble with a few door handles falling off ( !) and the settees were not very comfortable but I know the new owner is addressing these issues.
