An initial supply of logs are provided for the woodburning stove. Further logs can be purchased from the shop across the road, which also stocks other essentials .

Moor Head can accommodate a maximum of 6 adults, but does welcome parties of 8 with children. If you would like to book for 8, please call the office to request use of the sofa bed in the snug 

The owner of this cottage will provide a Christmas tree for the festive season.

General Description

Set in the beautiful village of Eskdale, Moor Head is a gorgeous country cottage whose traditional appearance belies its modern, high-spec interior. Moor Head can sleep up to 8 guests, so is perfect for families of every size. With no fewer than three living spaces Moor Head has bags of room to gather the family together or spread out and claim your own space. The house is set in gorgeous gardens with multiple areas from which to enjoy the glorious views.

On arrival at the property guests descend some small stone steps to the main door which leads directly into the kitchen/diner area. It's a gorgeous modern double-height space which is a complete haven for the foodies among you and ideal for spending time around the dinner table chatting about your Lake District adventures. It has a handsome two oven AGA as well as a combi-microwave oven for those less comfortable with AGA cooking. As well as the AGA hobs there's also a large gas wok burner. The kitchen is generally very well equipped with a large American style fridge freezer, a dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine and all the crockery, cookware and glassware you will need for your stay. There is a large built-in utility cupboard with plenty of hanging space for coats and storage room for shoes.

Moving through from the kitchen through the main hallway guests come to the lovely living room. It's large yet cosy with a deep corner sofa and wood burning stove. The room makes the most of its historical features with an exposed stone wall and huge wooden mantle framing the fire. There's a large Smart TV for whiling away evenings and two windows with delightful views out onto the garden. Alongside this room there's also a snug with another deep comfy sofa, another TV and an X-Box with several games. Perfect space for teens or tweens to commandeer for themselves. Alternatively if you need to work during your break there is a desk in this room and the benefit of superfast broadband. Also on this floor is the stylish modern shower room. It's a wonderful light room which has a huge shower enclosure with mixer shower and drencher head and large mirrored cabinets for storage.

Upstairs to the first floor where the stunning master bedroom is set into the eaves of the house. With gorgeous light decor, vibrant colours and two velux windows it's a haven for relaxation. The room has a king-size dark wooden bed frame and built-in wardrobes and drawers for storage.

Downstairs is the lower ground floor and the rest of the accommodation. There's the first of the single rooms has a wardrobe and a chest of drawers for storage, the second single room has a 4ft double bed, a chest of drawers and beautiful fell views. The twin room has a delightful view from two windows and a double chest of drawers. On this lower floor there is also a third living space with a bay window looking out onto the gardens and the fells beyond. It has another television and a futon which can be made up as an extra bed for children should your party require it. Please advise on booking if you would like the room to be made up. On the lower floor is the modern family bathroom which has an over-bath mixer shower.

The gardens are an absolute delight with multiple areas to enjoy all the sun that the day affords. There is a patio and a deck with outdoor furniture for dining and relaxing as well as lawns and mature trees. If you are lucky enough to be visiting when the fruit trees ripen then there's plenty of apples to go around! Outside there's also a large lockable shed for bikes and a utility area with washing machine and dryer. In all it's a perfect place to enjoy this beautiful and unspoiled village.
