Mole End Cottage
Stepping into Mole End Cottage is like walking into another world. Filled with period features, Mole End is a wonderful country retreat from the modern world. Uldale is a fellside village and northern outpost of the Lake District, offering a rare sense of peace and seclusion. Mole End is within easy driving distance of Keswick and Cockermouth.
Sleeping five people in three bedrooms, Mole End, retains many characterful period features whilst offering the modern comforts of wifi, a TV/DVD player and a washing machine. There is a magnificent Victorian fireplace in the dining room, complimented by the antique table and chairs. In the sitting room, ornately carved furniture lends character. The bedrooms make the most of the cottage character with the original beams and Edwardian furniture.
The tiny village of Uldale lies in the area known as Back O’Skiddaw, near Bassenthwaite. Nestled amongst the gentle grassy hills, there is a really remote feel to the area although it is within a 20 minute drive of Cockermouth and Keswick. The village boasts a popular pub and a tearoom with art gallery that serves Sunday lunches – quite a combination.
