A lovely cosy cottage, traditionally furnished and in a fantastic position. The views from the really nice decking, with very comfortable outdoor furniture, overlook the river estuary with Irish Sea beyond, a constantly changing vista with the ebb and flow of the tides. Ravenglass is a lovely village, perhaps the one (very slight) negative is there is only a very basic single shop but you can still get a newspaper to read and the odd essential. A couple of decent pubs, a restaurant and thriving cafe on the platform of the local steam railway mean you certainly won't go hungry or thirsty!

Miterdale is a lovely cottage in a picturesque location, overlooking the estuary formed by the rivers Irt, Mite and Esk. It was a perfect base for walks up and down the coast and for access to the National Park. The cottage itself had everything we needed and we appreciated the fresh flowers. The terrace at the back was great for outdoor breakfasts and dinners with super views across the estuary. We (a family of four) had a brilliant time and will definitely return.
