- In over 30 years of self catering holidays, this is the best cottage we've ever stayed in. It's on a working farm and being lambing time when we stayed just added to the pleasure. Wasdale Head is a beautiful setting and Middle Row a very roomy, comfortable cottage, warm and well equipped with terrific views everywhere. We really appreciated the heating being on when we arrived on a cold (for May) day, along with a bottle of wine and box of Celebrations. Lot of walks straight from the door to suit all levels, a friendly pub and equally friendly Barn Store next door .... what more could you want. If you don't mind the "interesting" drive to get there and the relative isolation, this is the perfect place to stay.

Hi Sue, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you had a wonderful holiday, it really is the perfect place to get away from it all isn't it? The location is stunning, just perfect if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. And the cottage is lovely and cosy to come home to after a day out exploring. I bet it was such a treat seeing all those lovely lambs every day!
I hope you can plan a return visit soon, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
