Parking Info

There is room for three cars to park in the yard. Neighbours park by the left- and right-hand walls and we ask you to please park with your front or rear between the two white stones on the ground, the other end pointing directly at the entrance. This makes a sort of fan shape and works well!

An initial supply of wood is provided for the woodburner and owners can provide more at cost.
Mobile phone reception is unreliable (Vodafone usually has reception outside) but there is a public telephone in the Bridge Inn a couple of minutes' walk away. 
Towels will be provided but we ask that you please bring your own towels for your dog (if you're bringing one!).
Although there is no shop in the village local supermarkets do deliver to the village if you pre-order.

Although there are sleeping spaces for three people, the layout and of the cottage means the cottage is only suitable for two guests.
Please note that, due to the way the cottage is designed, Middle Cragg Cottage is not suitable for children.

*Although thre is no dishwasher available in the cottage, please be assured that all crockery and cutlery is put through a hot cycle in the owner's dishwasher between each set of guests*

General Description

Middle Cragg Cottage offers lovely accommodation in a traditional Lakeland stone built cottage.

Entering the front door you come into the carpeted beamed sitting room which has a woodburning stove (initial supply of wood provided), and a TV with DVD player. The owner has also supplied an information pack, books on local walks and board games.

The sitting room leads through to the dining area which is open to the kitchen. This area is fully tiled and there is a back door which leads straight out to a footpath on to the fells. Please note that the steps up to the footpath are quite steep. This area can be closed off from the rest of the house so is perfect for wet dogs to dry off in. A stair gate is also provided for the stairs leading off from this area.

The tiled kitchen is fully equipped. There are induction hobs and electric oven, a fridge with ice box freezer, built in microwave, storage space and a pull out hanger for wet coats.

The stairs lead upstairs from the dining area to a landing, off which is the double bedroom with views to Red Pike, the tiled bathroom with a shower over the bath and the single bedroom with velux window...

Outside there is a 5 metre walk across the yard to the enclosed garden with fantastic views across the valley to the Buttermere fells and a bench to sit back and enjoy them from. There is parking for one car. It should suitably be able to accommodate most sizes of vehicle but any extra large cars may struggle to park.
