Middle Cottage is a traditional 18th Century Lakeland cottage that has been renovated to provide comfortable and sophisticated accommodation for 4 people.
Situated in a prime location in the village of Portinscale, Middle Cottage has been newly refurbished by the skilled owners and finished to a very high standard. The character of the property has been retained and improved by the sympathetic refurbishment.
The owners have crafted much of the beautiful oak furniture and the bespoke staircase by hand. The traditional slate fireplace is a focal point in the sitting room and the original beams have been retained throughout.
Portinscale is well served by three hotels, a pub and two cafes, all offering varied menus and good selections of beverages. A two-minute walk down the road will find you at The Farmer's Arms, a well presented village pub, which is dog and family friendly, with a smart bar area and plenty of character. Portinscale has a popular marina with all manner of watersports available just a few minutes stroll from the front door.
Keswick is within walking distance or a 5 minute drive, where there are further pubs and restaurants as well Booths supermarket. Keswick is a hub of outdoor activity and there is something to do for everyone in the local area. Cockermouth, the home of Wordsworth, is a 15 minute drive and while you are there it's well worth paying a visit to the Jennings Brewery.
