The Mews is a self contained apartment in the old village Rectory. Sleeping 4/5 people in 2 bedrooms it is the perfect place to escape from the pressures of daily life. Uldale is a small farming village in the rural northern Lake District. There is a comfortable sitting room with a woodburner and two good sized bedrooms ideal for couples holidaying together or an older family. There is a cosy patio with outdoor seating ideal for that morning coffee whilst planning your day's adventures.

Uldale is a quaint rural village situated in the north west of the Lake District National Park with a popular country pub called the Snooty Fox and a restaurant/tearoom called Mae's in the old school building. There are regular music nights at Mae's and local arts and crafts are displayed there too. On the edge of the village there is a children's playground and tennis courts. There are several lovely walks and cycle rides from the village onto the quiet fells known as Back o'Skiddaw.

Bassenthwaite is within a ten minute drive. You can enjoy walks by the lake and in the wetland nature reserve. Ospreys nest at the lake between April and September and are a magnificent sight if you are fortunate enough to see them. There is a lovely tearoom at Dodd Wood and waymarked trails for walking and cycling. The busy market towns of Keswick (10 miles) and Cockermouth (9 miles) are both within easy reach by car and have a good selection of shops and places to eat and drink.

One of our Facebook fans recently shared this comment with us after her stay at The Mews: "We came back last weekend from staying a week at The Mews, we had a fab week. The Snooty Fox pub round the corner does good food, along with Maes Tea Room which is about 10 min walk away. It's just a short car ride to Keswick which is a beautiful town. Ideal location. Loved it. Wished we could have stayed longer".
