A lovely comfortable cottage. Only issue is that it is quite dark inside due to the small windows & despite it's name of Mell Fell View there is no view of countryside from within the cottage, let alone of Mell Fell!

Ideal for what we needed, two good sized double bedrooms, well supplied kitchen with all the white goods we would want. The fire was very welcome and we used the outhouses to store canoeing equipment safely.

Hi Graeme, delighted to hear that you had such a fabulous holiday - sounds like there was plenty of splashing around! Here's to more canoeing capers in the Lakes!

The cottage lacks natural light and the interior was dark and gloomy even in the middle of summer. The shower temperature was totally random. Once a comfortable temperature was found and you began to use the shower it would them oscillate between scolding hot and freezing cold! The creaking floorboards upstairs need attention. I was also very disappointed to find no basic condiments (salt, pepper etc) in the cupboards. On a positive note the beds were very comfortable.
