Overall we had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Meadow Cottage. It is in an excellent location in easy reach of the town centre, with many walks that can be done from the door. We benefitted from complimentary ground coffee and ginger biscuits, as well as having access to a smart TV with a Netflix subscription.

There are however a few improvements that could be made to bring this property to a 10/10. There are no baking trays whatsoever in the property, which limits what you can cook, which defeats the point of a self catering property.

We also found that a few of the radiators were in need of bleeding, so on the days we needed the heating on some of the bedrooms stayed cold.

There is also no recycling bin for glass, with the welcome book suggesting a 15 minute walk to the nearest recycling bin. We attempted to use it one day only to find it was already full. In the end it went in with general waste.

We never had an issue with parking, however it is worth noting that larger cars may struggle as the only way to fit in to the space is to block off access to the steps to the property. For context we have a Skoda Kamiq - anything longer than this might have an issue.

The property comfortably fit 4 of us, however please be aware the kitchen/dining room only seats 4, and the sitting room would probably only fit 5 adults. Those with children might also want to know the stairs to the attic room are 'ladder-like' so might be unsuitable for young ones, or anybody with mobility issues.

Hi Daniel, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break in the heart of Keswick isn't it? It's such a bonus being able to head out exploring and leave the car at home. I have discussed your feedback with the owners of Meadow Cottage and they have now bought new baking trays for the kitchen and they will be putting a new microwave in the house shortly, when they come to stay themselves. During that time, they will also bleed the radiators. Regarding seating in the kitchen, there are 2 spare folding kitchen chairs in the utility room cupboard should there be more than 4 people wishing to sit round the kitchen table. While there is space for a car to park immediately outside the house, there is also further parking available just beyond the terrace of houses if the designated space is not quite suitable. I can't say that I have ever had a problem putting recycling into the recycling centre at Otley Road car park but the owners will pass on your comments to Allerdale Borough Council, to ensure this is monitored in future. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Great location just across from Fitz Park. Comfortable king sized bed in master bedroom and en suite was a bonus. We had a lovely week. Only complaints were the lack of baking trays for cooking and the bottom of the microwave was corroded.
