Low Longmire Cottage is one of our NEW COTTAGES!

For those that want to get away from it all, Low Longmire Cottage offers a tranquil, detached, beautiful chocolate box Lakeland cottage. Dating back 250 years, the cottage is full of original character features; from wooden beams to the stunning slate floors, there’s plenty to delight. Inside there’s a charming country dining kitchen with a modern induction range-style cooker. The wonderful living room has its own wood burner and a feature vaulted ceiling. Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one with a shower, the other with a bath. Outside the cottage is a rambling garden, with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Low Longmire Cottage is happy to welcome 1 well behaved dog but we do ask that they are kept downstairs and off the furniture.

Located close to the hamlet of Oxen Park, in this forgotten quiet corner of the National Park, Low Longmire Cottage enjoys a peaceful, rural setting. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, there is plenty to explore from the door. Oxen Park itself and the neighbouring Rusland Valley and Grizedale Forest, all a haven for a wide variety of flora and fauna, offer plenty of fantastic walking opportunities. Be sure to stop off at one of the two traditional pubs, both within a 20 minute walk, for some refreshments too.

Bustling Windermere is just a scenic 20 minute drive away. Why not catch the ferry across Lake Windermere to Hawkshead? Another charming Lakeland village once home to Betrix Potter. The village of Coniston, sitting beneath the mighty Coniston Old Man - a fantastic fell walk for the avid hiker, is a 30 minute drive away. Here you can learn all about Donald Campbell's water speed records or take a ride on the Steam Yacht Gondola to enjoy the water at a more leisurely pace. The south Cumbrian coast is also within easy reach; there are plenty of great spots to choose from here so enjoy a bracing coastal walk whilst you take in the beautiful wide open vistas. Whatever you decide to do during your stay, Low Longmire Cottage is the perfect place to retreat to.

Please note, Low Longmire Cottage is unable to accept children under the age of 5 (including infants).
