This cosy cottage offers more space than you think, and is spread over two floors. Little Swinside Cottage was an addition to the farmhouse, built in 1841. Downstairs you will find a lovely patio room with an outstanding view over the Vale of Lorton. Upstairs is the main living area with a further sitting room, and the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. It can be let with High Swinside Farmhouse - the two are connected by a lockable door - and High Swinside Cottage to sleep up to 17 people. There are two traditional wooden hot tubs in the grounds, offering stunning views of the Lorton Valley.
The idyllic location is perfect for walkers, cyclists and those wishing to escape the pressures and noise of modern life. You won't be disturbed out here!
In the village of Lorton you will find the lovely Wheatsheaf pub, which has a good menu and Fresh Fish Fridays. You can walk to the village in around 15 minutes. There is a village shop selling all the essentials you might need and much more in case you don’t fancy venturing into Keswick or Cockermouth for supermarkets. There is a good mobile signal at High Swinside and even WiFi for those who can't switch off.
Lorton is a 15 minute walk away whilst the larger towns of Cockermouth and Keswick are a 20 minute drive for shopping, pubs, bars and groceries.
