Absolutely gorgeous property set in beautiful surroundings. Interior more than matched expectations and was beautifully presented. Not one member of my party had any complaint to make. Village was quiet with few amenities but it suited us. Heartily recommend Lily Hall and will definitely consider a return visit.

Our third visit to this house which is in a super location with great views and excellent local amenities. The house is very comfortable with excellent facilities and is close to the pubs and shop in Ennerdale Bridge.

H James, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your third visit as much as the previous two. It must feel like coming home now! It's easy to see why you love it here, it's the perfect place to kick back and relax isn't it? I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Stunning house with amazing views across the hills - we spent hours in the first floor viewing area just taking in the surroundings with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Lily Hall had all the equipment you could possibly ask for in a kitchen and more - plus there were thoughtful additional touches like the latest DVDs and even a bottle of prosecco and doggy treats on arrival.
Bathrooms etc were fantastic and the living room was a cosy space on a rainy day/evening (of which we had several, lol). Got a bit confused about how to get all the channels on the Sky TV - plus the upstairs TV didn't work due to the poor wifi. But it didn't spoil our enjoyment too much.
There are two decent pubs nearby - we preferred the Shepherd's Arms as it was doing the Eat Out to Help Out half price scheme. The Fox and Hounds told us it wasn't doing that, as it was busy and booked up anyway and didn't see the point. The Gather is a little cafe/shop nearby but we didn't go inside, just tried the hot chocolate (which tbh was pretty awful). All are probably totally different and much more atmospheric places in normal times rather than at the tail end of a pandemic with social distancing etc, and it's certainly nice to have things to do nearby.
Plenty of lovely countryside to explore with the dog etc - you do have to walk along roads to get to Ennerdale Lake though. We spotted some red squirrels and had a regular visit from a heron.
All in all a super place - great if you like isolation and peace. We wished we could have had better weather but it was nice to come home to such a lovely house.
