Beautiful house, great location so long as you know the area. Lots of little touches that were a surprise, they were very thoughtful. Thank you, we’ll be back again!

Amazing location. Very rural so don't expect phone reception or the best Internet. But it's nice to switch off from that. Really need go drive out to get amenities.

Highlight is being rural and close to ennerdale.

Plan on going back.

Only flaw is the log fire. We had some bad weather and all the smoke and spot blew back into house.

We had a lovely weeks holiday here. The area is one we’ve stayed in many times and it never fails to provide everything we love. Highly recommend the circular walk around Ennerdale lake if you stay here. We’ve done it a few times and it’s just brilliant!

The house is near to local pubs, shops and not a far drive to bigger shops and has everything you need and more.

We all really enjoyed the log burner and living room area- great space for family games nights! The beds were really comfy and very welcoming after spending the day hiking. Lovely quirky decor around the house and though we didn’t use the upstairs living area it was a lovely addition and great idea for bigger families!

As the owners of a successful dog business and owners of 3 ourselves there were a few downsides for us and we wouldn’t say it was very dog friendly.

It was a massive shame for us not being able to enjoy the lovely big garden with our dogs like we normally would. It wasn’t secure along the side where the road is and though your not staying on the m4 there is still passing traffic which is something to bare in mind if you have an inquisitive dog.

We were informed that dogs were not allowed to do any toileting in the garden and it was suggested to us to take them for a walk for their toilet breaks instead which meant for a much less relaxed holiday on our evenings at the cottage and the odd day we would spend relaxing at the cottage by not being able to relax and enjoy the outside space at all.

For anyone with reactive or nervous dogs do bare in mind that there is a gardener who comes into the garden at times to check on things - something of corse we understand needs to be done but for owners of such a scared dog, especially of people it would be good to be made aware when this was happening to avoid any stress to our dog and so we didn’t feel on edge.

Overall the accommodation was lovely, location brilliant but we wouldn’t return as it’s not as dog friendly as other cottages Sally’s Cottages have to offer.

Hi Amy, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? The location is stunning, I can see why you love this part of the Lakes so much. It's a shame you chose not to use the garden. We ask that dogs toileting in any of our listed cottage gardens is cleared away and I am sorry this spoilt things for you. We hope your nervous dogs enjoyed their welcome dog biscuits on arrival and helped them settle to their new home. It sounds like you made great use of the local walks and lakes though.I hope you can bring the dogs for some more adventures in the Lakes soon, if I can help with anything please do get in touch.
