Larch Cottage is the very image of a cosy and traditional Borrowdale Cottage nestled in Rosthwaite in this beloved valley. Sleeping four people in two pretty bedrooms and boasting delightful views it gives visitors a welcoming feeling from the moment you step into its quaint living room. Light the open fire, settle down with a cuppa and plan your fell walking adventures from its comfy sofa. There's everything from the mightiest fell tops to smaller but no less iconic peaks just a stone's throw from the door.

Rosthwaite is in a perfect position from which to explore Borrowdale, one of the most loved of all Lakeland Valleys. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and criss-crossed with traditional dry stone walls framing rolling fields and blessed with some excellent watering holes and eateries, it really makes a wonderful place for a Cumbrian break. The crystal clear river Derwent runs nearby, in fact the walk from Rosthwaite to Grange along the river is an absolute must. Why not pack a picnic, find the perfect spot and have a paddle along the way? Further up the valley you can visit Honister Mine visitor centre. Take the mine tour for a rainy day activity or challenge yourself to the Via Ferrata as an adventure!

Picturesque Derwentwater is nearby where you can hire kayaks, paddle boards, sailing and rowing boats to mess about on the water. Alternatively you could take in the views from one of the stately Derwentwater Launches that weave their way around the seven landing stages. Keswick, just six miles away, is well known as the Lake District's adventure capital. The town itself has a lovely bustling atmosphere and plenty to do whether you'd like to shop, take in a film, visit a museum or catch a play or concert at the wonderful Theatre By The Lake. However you'd like to spend your stay, Larch Cottage is a sweet and homey base to make the most of your holiday.
