A welcoming holiday home in the Lake District market town of Keswick, ideal for fell and lakeside walks, as well as trips out and water sports activities on Derwentwater.
Situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with views towards Latrigg and the North Western Fells, this cottage is the ideal base for launching into the Lake District. Not only is the cottage, which sleeps up to six people, away from the main road, but it has a field to the rear where local Herdwick sheep peacefully graze.
Keswick is a jewel in the northern Lake District's crown situated on the shores of the incredibly picturesque Derwentwater. It's a vibrant market town with a wonderful atmosphere where you can indulge your wild side with any number of adventurous outdoor activities or pamper your taste buds with a huge range of eateries offering great local food and Cumbrian real ales. The walking and cycling on offer here is second to none with paths and tracks to suit those in search of gentle picturesque strolls or Lake District giants such as Skiddaw to climb if you're feeling more energetic.
Ancient and mysterious, Castlerigg Stone Circle sits less than a mile up the hill from the cottage. Dating from around 3000 BC and occupying an elevated plateau, it is one of the most stunningly situated stone circles you will find with breathtaking views in all directions. Just beyond the stone circle is the Keswick Climbing Wall and Rookery Woods which incorporates all types of fun for all ages!
This is a spacious detached house at the bottom of a sought-after cul-de-sac on the edge of the much loved Lakeland town of Keswick. Easy to find on the main road into Keswick and benefiting from its own driveway, it is perfect for making the most of the town and surrounding area.
This cottage has a huge kitchen and utility area at the back of the house and a generously-sized conservatory to the side with two bathrooms and a separate WC. It sleeps up to six people, so is perfect for families looking for a launch pad to the Lake District.
The living room contains a TV with DVD and video player with a collection of DVDs, videos, board games and books. Two three-seater sofa and two comfortable armchairs add to the 1960s retro feel. The double-aspect views are to the back garden and through a full-length window looking towards Latrigg and Blencathra.
Access to the conservatory is via the living room and contains a cushioned wicker two-seater sofa and four comfy chairs. The door to the living room can be closed if you want to get away from the noise of the TV and immerse yourself in a good novel or enjoy a glass of wine with the family. There are double doors which lead from the conservatory out onto the patio which is the perfect way to bring 'the outside, in' during those balmy summer evenings.
The kitchen is accessed via the dining room, which seats six people. Not only is the kitchen spacious, it is also flooded with natural light from the large window that looks onto the garden. An electric oven, microwave and dishwasher can be found in the kitchen, while a washing machine, tumble dryer, freestanding fridge/freezer and a second sink are all located in the adjoining utility room. Just off the utility is the downstairs shower room, which as well as an enclosure, has a WC and wash hand basin.
On the first floor are three bedrooms, a bathroom and separate WC. The king size and double bedrooms have views of Latrigg and Blencathra, while the twin bedroom overlooks the sheep grazing peacefully in the field to the rear of the house. The king-size and double bedrooms both have free-standing wardrobes, while the twin room has hanging storage and a clothes rail set within a curtained alcove. You'll then find the first floor bathroom, which comprises of a combined bath and shower, wash hand basin and WC.
The small garden extends from the front to the side and rear of the house, whilst we can't guarantee that this will be 'escape-proof' for the most determined small dogs, it is surrounded by fencing on all sides. The access through the side gate is ideal for bringing those bikes to the back of the house instead of having to try and steer them through the property.
Outdoor table and chairs and a small BBQ will be provided in the summertime.
