General Description

Lakenhow is an "upside-down" holiday home, so you can take advantage of the elevated views from the lounge.  Upstairs is a spacious affair, with double doors in the lounge can be thrown open to make the kitchen and dining area very accessible - a great space for a get together and socialising.  The lounge has a sense of peacefulness and spaciousness with a most lovely serene and calming colour scheme and plenty of comfy seating.  Cooling in the summer months, and yet set centrally along the main wall, the large log burner taking centre stage in the room, ensures that sitting by a roaring log burner on a windy autumn or cold winter's evening with friends is just as enjoyable at Lakenhow as having a barbecue in the summer is, while enjoying the gardens.

The kitchen has an overall lovely open plan and spacious feel to it - ideal for friends and family to socialise together while simultaneously preparing a meal if they so wish.  It is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, full length fridge with plenty of freezer space, microwave, and plenty of storage space.  There is a washing machine in the utility room.  You will find the kitchen stocked with useful background items - salt, pepper, kitchen towel, cooking oil, tin foil, cloths and scrubbies, dishwashing liquid and tablets, along with tea, coffee and sugar so if you forget something - it's likely to be waiting for you here.

Just beyond the kitchen area at Lakenhow lies the conservatory area.  Simply a stunning area to sit and take tea, curl up and read a book, enjoy the absolute peace and quiet, or catch up with friends and family.

Also upstairs is a double bedroom with a fabulous bed to sink into for a great night's rest, complimented by special top of the range quality bed linen and towels. Soothing colours here with a country feel add to the pampered feeling.  A TV is mounted on the wall.  The bathroom upstairs is classical white with a dove grey colour palette complimented by soft blues - gorgeous! It has bath with separate shower cubicle.

The other two bedrooms are downstairs and are both simply stylish and definitely luxurious! The larger family room has a king-size bed and a single bed and the other downstairs bedroom has a double bed and a single bed, again in muted tones, with comfortable bedding and both with TVs mounted on the wall. The bathroom downstairs is an exercise in sheer bliss: imagine sinking into the roll top bath surrounded by beautifully crafted space and subtle colour tones. There is also a shower cubicle here.

The gardens have just been landscaped so the planted beds are developing, and the garden is situated on several levels with two patio areas and a water feature for you to sit out and enjoy, not overlooked and completely private in this large detached cottage.
