Kirsty Brow is in a good location as long as you don’t mind negotiating a very narrow windy lane to reach the property.
The internal furnishings are very very basic, which is a reflection of the rates. However, what is not acceptable is the poor kitchen utensils, (the knives are so cheap they bend making them extremely dangerous to use). A cupboard door was hanging off, the sieve was fit for the bin. The cooker had not been cleaned and when used it burn off fat to such an extent all windows and the door had to be open, the smell was horrendous. The oven tray was full of used fat, which we had to clean.
When we stripped the bed as requested, the quilt was filthy and covered in brown stains
The bench seat was broken and fortunately the bench table was ok and the couple who share this facility never did, otherwise their would not have been seating for both properties.
Overall, very poor and disappointing. For us it was the only property available.

You really do get what you pay for..

I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We had a great stay at Kirksty Brow - a snug home in an ideal rural spot for exploring the Northern Lakes. Plenty of hot water, and very peaceful at night.

Lovely little bolthole in Matterdale End a little drive from ullswater, Keswick and Penrith .
The cottage is converted into two with the top floor being Kirsty brow with a shared garden which is lovely until downstairs guests decide to sit outside the bedroom window when your trying to sleep , having said that it was a nice little place, clean and had everything we needed for a break away

Hi Julie, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, it's a cosy little gem isn't it? And perfectly positioned for exploring some lovely parts of the Lakes. I hope the guests downstairs didn't disturb you too much. Until next time!
