Adequate for our needs. Too hot at times, not able to open sky lights so had to open front door for ventilation.

Kirksty Brow is small, but almost perfectly formed. It is a great base for exploring the lakes, providing you have a car. The accommodation is quite dated (especially the kitchen and bathroom) but is completely functional, and I think that was reflected in the price. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn’t want for anything (except maybe a tablespoon as there was only one, which was a little frustrating at breakfast!). There were some lovely walks from the cottage, which we enjoyed on an evening with our dog. During the day we ventured out in the car to Keswick, Aira Force and Ullswater, as well as ticking off a couple more Wainwrights. I’d recommend Kirksty Brow to anyone looking for comfortable, no frills accommodation on a budget. Great for couples with or without a dog.
