This a splendid house, beautifully appointed and decorated and it is great to find that it is well equipped and everything works as it should. We all had a wonderful holiday and the weather was kind. We will use Kirkbank again when next we return to the area

Hi Michael, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break, it's a lovely place to relax and recharge the batteries isn't it? I hope you can come back and do it all again soon.

Overall a lovely cottage in a nice area of the Lake District. Some very nice features, spacious rooms and particularly comfortable beds. However there is not enough comfortable seating in the lounge for 6 people and not enough room for 6 at the dining table. Also it was a shame that there wasn’t shampoo and shower gel in both bathrooms and there were no dressing gowns, and kitchen supplies (e.g. dishwasher tablets, washing powder, bin bags, basic kitchen essentials) were virtually non existent and there were no instructions on how to segregate waste or when to put the bin out for collection. The heated floor in the lounge wasn’t working, the bathroom wall lights weren’t working, and the smart TV does not have all the usual apps such as BBC i-player. The cottage is on a busy road and it can be difficult at times to get out of the driveway because of fast moving traffic. Also considering that the cottage is empty from 930am to 5pm it was not sparkling clean when we arrived. It is the norm in our experience to be greeted with a welcome pack but in this case there was only a pint of milk in the fridge to share between 6 people! That said we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but just feel that a little more attention to detail is necessary in our opinion for it to be outstanding.

Hi Janet, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? The location is stunning, I hope you enjoyed exploring.
I'm sorry to hear that the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch when you arrived. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I'll make sure it's addressed with the cleaners. Thanks for letting me know about the underfloor heating and bathroom wall lights too, I'll make sure we get those sorted and look into everything else you've highlighted.
I hope you can come back to make more memories in the Lakes soon.

A supremely comfortable and well equipped base from which to explore a part of the Lakes we don’t know so well. We had an excellent two week stay here, adding another 8 Wainwrights to our (8 yr old) daughter’s collection, swimming in Blea Tarn, biking from West Lakes base beyond Dalegarth to Ravenglass and back, travelling on La’al Ratty, exploring the dunes at Drigg and seeing an amazing Sky Hunters display at Muncaster Castle. The house was luxurious with superb facilities. Never underestimate the value of an outside tap for an outdoor holiday base! Superb.
