This was our second visit to the Cabin having stayed here 4 years ago and we were not disappointed. Beautiful surroundings, pub and landlord great. Accommodation great value for a family. Furnishings started to look a bit tired - bed settee in particular however did not detract from a great weekend.

Hi Paula, I'm so pleased you enjoyed your second time at The King George Cabin. It's the perfect place to get away from it all isn't it? And what a location!
I appreciate your feedback about the furnishings and will pass this on to the owner. thank you. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Cabin is located not far from the Scarfell Pike so it's perfect if you'd like an early start climbing up the mountain.

On the first day, we went straight to caynoning at Coniston and dinner at Ambleside and wasn't expecting many sheep sitting on the driving path which made our journey to the cabin in the dark quite fun! We also saw some party marquees on the way, a great countryside experience!

The cabin is right next to the pub and the pub owner is genuinely nice, he was telling us his story and we had the first round of drink on the house because we walked up Scarfell Pike without a compass and a map :D

Hi Jesse, thank you for taking the time to write a review. It sounds like you had a great time at the King George Cabin. Well done for conquering Scafell Pike, I bet those drinks went down a treat! Here's to the next Lakes adventure.

The staff were lovely and willing to help however they just need to spend a bit of cash kitting out the van. A mish mash of different plates/bowls/glasses and often not enough for 6. Some doors were hanging off, drawers were difficult to open or fronts fell off. The space was great and location is incredible. A little bit of money spent would improve this so much.
