- This cottage was ice cold at all times, despite feeding the electricity meter every pound coin going (and every time you cook, it'll eat all the electricity anyway). Everything was reduced 'due to Covid' but we're not warned of this prior to booking or arrival and made the stay very difficult. Basic things were not supplied, nor was any information given about this. The car park for the 6 flats can barely fit half that amount and you'll be gritting your teeth and skimming your car on everything around you. Location wise, it's tucked around a very sharp turn in a tiny town with no signal at all, which paired with the WiFi that contantly cuts out, we were fairly isolated until driving about ten minutes to Keswick. Getting about the Lake District was fine, location wise. Very close to Keswick, but I wouldn't recommend walking it (1-2h vs 10m drive) as there aren't many paths.
The flat was adequate as a place to sleep and eat, but extremely basic, and the communication was lacking. The website does a good job of pointing out things to do locally, and I would recommend the bowder stone which is close by. Overall, it's fine, but not as advertised.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the cottage wasn't as you were expecting. Unfortunately we've had to make some changes to our cottages due to COVID such as removing information leaflets and other items that would usually be provided for guests, we have written to all our guests before their stay to advise of this. I'm sorry to hear that you found the cottage to be cold, I'll make sure we take a look at the heating.
I hope you still managed to enjoy your break, it's a lovely place to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while isn't it? I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
