Green Gable is an ideal ground floor apartment nestled in the beautiful Borrowdale Valley. Sleeping two people in welcoming surroundings, boasting glorious fell views and also just a 100m potter to an excellent local pub it really makes a perfect place for a Lake District break. Green Gable is one of five apartments in Kiln How, a splendid Victorian House in Rosthwaite, one of the tiny hamlets that pepper this magical valley. There's a staggering array of walking available right from the door whether it's the mightiest Lakeland peaks that tempt you or gentle riverside ambles. For cyclists the position of Kiln How could scarcely be bettered as there's a wealth of bridleways nearby for the off-road enthusiasts and iconic Honister Pass for the road cyclists just over a mile away.

Borrowdale must surely rank as one of the most loved of all Lakeland Valleys, and it's easy to see why. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and criss-crossed with traditional dry stone walls framing rolling fields and blessed with some wonderful watering holes and eateries it really makes a wonderful place for a Cumbrian break. Rosthwaite is in a perfect position from which to explore it. The crystal clear river Derwent runs nearby, in fact the walk from Rosthwaite to Grange along the river is an absolute must. Why not pack a picnic, find the perfect spot and have a paddle along the way?

The surrounding area is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast. Keswick is well known as the adventure capital of the Lakes and there is a great choice of outdoor instructors available to help you find your wild side. Picturesque Derwentwater is on the doorstep where you can hire kayaks, paddle boards, sailing and rowing boats to mess about on the water. Alternatively you could take in the views from one of the stately Derwentwater launches that weave their way around the seven landing stages. The town itself has a lovely bustling atmosphere and plenty to do whether you'd like to shop, take in a film, visit a museum or catch a play or concert at the wonderful Theatre By The Lake. In all Green Gable is the ideal place for a couple or solo traveller to make the most of this glorious area.

Green Gable can be booked alongside the other apartments in Kiln How for larger groups or families
