We had a very good week at Kiln How - Cat Bells. The kitchen was well-appointed and the whole place was spotless. The only reason why comfort scored only 7 was that that the bed was too short for a six-foot person. Otherwise we would recommend it wholeheartedly.

I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

This was a very nice, comfortable apartment let down by a few minor things. The apartment was quite spacious for two compared with some we have stayed in in the past. There was adequate parking. There are lots of walks from the door, both easy and and more demanding and a good bus service - we therefore didn't use the car very much at all which was great given the difficulty of parking in the lake district. There are no local shops so expect to have to travel to Keswick to buy anything. We stayed for two weeks and the owner changed the towels and linen half way through and provided further toilet rolls.

The electricity is supplied by a meter which takes £1 coins. It doesn't use very many though if you use the electric shower and only put the emersion heater on for a short time each day (as suggested by the owner). The time taken for the hot water in the kitchen sink to run hot is so long that we stopped using the emersion at all and just boiled a kettle.

The general feel of the cottage was fairly clinical. If you have grown to expect fresh flowers, homemade cake and a pint of milk on arrival you will be disappointed. A few sachets of coffee and some UHT one portion milk cartons were supplied. There were also only a limited number of books and no games or DVD's. There was no salt (something we had stopped taking on holiday long ago as we found that every cottage has a full salt cellar), only 3 desert spoons and no table spoons.

There is no provision at all for recycling so we took all our recycling home.

Hi Mike, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your break. The location is perfect for heading out for some good walks isn't it? It's such a bonus being able to head out walking and leave the car behind.
I really appreciate all your feedback and will certainly give it some consideration, thank you.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We enjoyed a really lovely holiday here, and the location is excellent, and very quiet, ideally placed for walks amid unspoilt lakeland countryside. The Cottage itself, was adequate, and represented good value for money. Clean and tidy and recently painted and carpeted. It is quite quaint in character, which for us is not an issue, but if you are looking for all mod cons with bells and whistles - this one may not be for you. We felt it represented good value for money. We were sad however that during our stay there was no contact with the owner.

Hi Stephen, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, the location is stunning isn't it? Just perfect if you enjoy getting out for some good walks.
The owners may have been away while you were here or maybe didn't want to intrude. If you ever have any issues you can always contact us in the office and we'll be more than happy to help. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
